Space – Who Needs It?

Space – Who Needs It?

Who needs space – for a party, rehearsal, course, seminar, meeting place, film set – anything else you can think of?

The Daktory offers plenty of space for all kinds of events. There is a projector and screen for showing films, a good sound system, recreational facilities, plenty of room and plenty of seating. The furniture can be arranged to suit whatever you want to do. Catering can be DIY.

The Daktory is available for hire on very reasonable terms. Give us a call on (09) 948 1049 to talk about your event and what you need. We want to help you make it a success!

Just dropping by for a visit….

There has been one visit from the cops in the past week – Sergeant Winthrop stopped by on his own, without his usual backup. On Sunday, while the club was open, 3 cop cars drove by very slowly, but did not stop to visit. One of the cop cars stopped close to the building, turned the flashing lights on for about 30 seconds, sat there a little longer, then drove slowly away.

What does that mean? A new form of surveillance? Testing the lights? Just felt like flashing? Maybe the Cyber Crime Unit will tell us – they read these blogs, because trying to legalise cannabis is a danger to society, or something.

The current government’s hostility to cannabis is no doubt part of John Key’s desperate sucking up to the USA. In a few weeks, 3 American states – Colorado, Oregon and Washington – will have binding referendums on legalising cannabis for adults. There is a good chance they will pass in at least 2 states. Then things could get interesting.

Our next court support protest will be for Billy McKee’s sentencing on October 30 in Palmerston North. Contact the Daktory if you want to be there or you can help in any way.

Just found out about this place thanks to the channel 3 doco. This is how it should be done, take it out of the shadows and away from underworld figures and it looks less harmful then a night out at the pub. Looking foward to meeting these pot pioneers. Chur

    Hello,
wow I found people that speak my language ( not literally, I am german, but metaphorically spoken :o )
I would love to visit you and will do. I read all the articles and bloggs and couldn´t agree more. i was ( am) married to an alcoholic and it is just a crying shame that this should be legal while peaceful smoking isn´t. The area in Germany where I was rised, is just 10 km away from Holland and thats where I spend every visit home ! They now have stricted their laws into the wrong direction in holland as well, due to EU pressure. As a foreigner you are not allowed to buy any weed there now and they closed down almost every coffee shop. Which of course was a swell day for everybody in the blackmarket and leads to a lot more consuming of hard drugs among the kids, because obviously blackmarket street dealers are not only selling weed, but try hard to get you to consume everything in the book. The Coffeeshop I used to go to for 15 years ( I am 34 already) was a very very good peaceful high quality one, where you could not- under no circumstances!- buy or consume any hard drugs and that includes alcohol. I never in 15 years have seen a fight or row in or near the place or somebody loosing it. The name of the place is “nobodys place” in case you are interested. It was visited by scotland yard as a model shop and Peter the owner is just the most quality obsessed and down to earth person ever. And of course they are struggeling against the same stupidity as you do. If there is anything that we as the “follower” can do, please let me know. I am with you with all my heart and think it is super, that there are people like you!
    See you sometime soon,
    have a nice day,
    Kind regards,
    Mariam
