Though many people can be technically addicted to Marijuana, it is no different from being addicted to video games or McDonalds. You can become addicted to the feeling, which of course is a high amount of dopamine released while high, which happens whenever you do something you love.

City sued for shutting down marijuana dispensary
Posted on December 2nd, 2009 by Cam Wright (Dakta Bourbon) | Filed under Blog, News. No Comments »
A Denver suburb’s decision to deny marijuana dispensaries the right to operate within city limits may have legal consequences. Four medical marijuana patients and two caregivers have filed a suit against the City of Centennial for the recent closure of a medical marijuana dispensary.
The City of Centennial recently voted not to allow marijuana dispensaries and last month closed down Cannamart. Attorneys for the plaintiffs allege that the shutdown is a violation of Coloradan’s constitutional rights, as the law allowing the use of medical marijuana is a part of the Colorado constitution. Ignoring Amendment 20, plaintiffs say, amounts to a rejection of the voter’s desires.
In a recent interview with Westword, Bob Hoban, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys, notes that the City of Centennial does not have the jurisdiction to enforce a federal law (marijuana, medical or not, is still illegal under federal law), and is in fact bound to enforce the state laws and constitution. 49% in California Favor Legalizing, Taxing Pot
Posted on November 24th, 2009 by Cam Wright (Dakta Bourbon) | Filed under Blog, Information, Legalization, Medical, News. No Comments »
The plurality of voters in California continues to support legalizing and taxing marijuana in order to solve some of the state’s ongoing budget problems.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state shows that 49% support the idea, while 38% are opposed. Just 12% are undecided.
Voters are slightly more supportive of the idea than they were in July, when 47% favored legalization and taxation of pot and 42% were opposed.
Nationally, 41% of voters think the United States should legalize and tax marijuana to help solve the nation’s fiscal problems, but 49% are against the idea.
California now faces a near $21-billion deficit over the next 18 months.
Most men in California (55%) support the legalization and taxation of marijuana, compared to 45% of women.
Democrats support the idea much more strongly than Republicans and voters not affiliated with either of the major parties.
A California state law passed in 1996 decriminalized marijuana for medical use, and in 2003 a ballot measure specified the drug could be cultivated and distributed to prescription-holding patients through nonprofit collectives.
