It’s the end of an era on the Dak Show this week. This week the show’s main focus is on the closing on The Daktory’s dispensary, which will see more people now replying on tinny houses for their medicine or recreational drug of choice. Dakta Green talks about how The Daktory came about, and what will happen to the club now that it will not be selling cannabis.
Mohammed, your argument is that of a child’s. There is nothing to stop a pilot from flying under the influence of cannabis, except for the law and of course his employer’s rules. Much the same as with alcohol. There are links to drug use and schizophrenia for sure, but it’s quite laughable to state that every cannabis user will suffer this fate. What is it with this issue and people who clearly know nothing about it automatically assuming they are an authority on the subject?
This is further compounded by you stating that a cannabis user is unemployable, and not contributing income tax to our economy. Clearly you have zero exposure to cannabis or anyone who uses it. Yet you’re here spouting shit like you’re an expert?
As for Ejaffe, your racist ignorance is an embarrassment.
You guys are doing a fantastic job. So awesome to see what a hip joint the Daktory has become. I look forward to catching up with what the Daktivists are up to when I’m next in Tamaki Makaurau. Keep up the good work!
BTW Flaccid long-disproved myths and red-herring arguments like those presented by “Mohammed” can be traced back to “reefer madness” propaganda documents like this:

Evidence against these myths can be found in a number of resources:

Lies and disinformation are the main weapon in the drug war. Read up and arm yourselves with shields of truth folks!

Mohammed. You did ask a question-What is the difference between a cannabis user and a p user?
There are a number of differences. Lets start at the receptor sites on the brain. P tends to act as a stimulant, stimulating the mind and body to a hyper state of alertness. A p user in the initial stages of use will perform most activities at a higher functioning state than placebo in controlled trials. The down side is – (and trust me its a big down side) is that of physical addiction to P. Without P the addicted user becomes what you have termed “useless”. And i tend to agree with you here. However, lets compare P to other human substances which we ingest eg fat, salt, preservatives. If we eat too much of these we can become unhealthy. So really its a question of frequency . How often do we ingest these substances whether it be P , fat or salt. The greater the quantity and frequency of use the more likely-hood of a problem developing. One smoke of a P pipe in a responsible setting perhaps no problem. many hits of a pipe you are heading for disaster.
Now lets look at cannabis. Yup you are probably going to run into problems if you ingest too much too often, but like our fat and salt example if you use it responsibly you are less likely to develop a problem. Some would argue their relationships, compassion and positive view of life increases with occasional cannabis use. So there are indeed positive effects as well as the negative ones you have mentioned.
Going back to the receptor sites on the brain, THC and related compounds in cannabis share almost nothing in common with the chemical structure and receptor site stimulation characteristics of P. Its kind of like comparing apples with eggs , yup they are both ingested but the similarities stop there.
Yup airline pilots should not smoke P or cannabis then fly… straight after the hit. Give it some time and studies show the error rate for placebo and the studied compound have no statistical significant difference.
Many cannabis users lead healthy normal lives, they earn a living they pay tax just like you and share in the use of facilities that you enjoy.
You seem to be preaching from a high pulpit of infallibility. Unfortunately there walks no human on this earth who doesn’t partake in something that is either unhealthy or illegal, but the nature of your statement “if its not legal then don’t do this” seems to suggest that everything that is illegal shouldn’t be done. Mate, wake up. Many things that were once illegal or legal for that matter have switched over time. Cannabis was perfectly legal in the states till about 1935. i think our laws were passed a little later. homosexuality became legal in 1989 in New Zealand and cannabis enjoys restricted legal use in the Netherlands. So trying to live by your “if its not legal don’t do this” philosophy is a little flawed and depends on what time in history you live and which country.
True problems my friend seem to stem from preachers who believe their way is better than others, the USA is a good example with their mass genocide campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, now that really is unhealthy but what do you know the War machine provides some much employment to those busy soldiers and contribute to the economy in such a big way maybe they are better than the cannabis users you despise. I am being sarcastic here by the way.
Lets have a bit more love and understanding and perhaps partake in a pharmacology workshop at a Uni to get our facts straight on chemicals and their psychokinetic, pharmacokinetic and pharmacological effects on the brain and related systems. Amen
Right, trash comments cleared! Anyone else that wants to make inappropriate and unnecessary comments are invited to say them in person at the daktory…80 Delta Ave, New Lynn. If you’re not prepared to do that, or your not prepared to have an educated, rash, logical debate, then DO NOT bother leaving a comment!
keep an eye out for season two of the DAKshow, airing in less than a month!
I agree with you and think you are heros, but you ruin your argument by saying “no has died from a direct result of cannibus”, that is like saying no has ever died as a direct result from smoking, i noticed he amended this in his next statement, but in a war of irony one must be pedantic.
@jazz —- believe me i have tried to debate your teenyboppers at the daktory — they are too stoned or to stupid to know what to do — :p
@ anyone else _____ i think mohammed raises an excellent point which has several implications and have thus far has been over looked – for example the ethics of autonomy and psychological addiction….. =)
