The Green Challenge

Welcome to the Green Challenge.

It was a late Saturday night at The Daktory. We were staying up to watch the All Blacks play South Africa due to start at 3am on Sky on The Daktory big screen.
A mixture of old and new members were gathering around the Board table for a pre game sesh. (Prior to the mid game sesh and the after game sesh. Lol)

A recently turned 18 new member was enjoying the activities when she suddenly stopped what she was doing. She then looked directly at Dakta Green and with the confidence of youth bluntly stated, “I could smoke you under the table.”

Those of you that know me could quite properly surmise I was a little amused.

During the last two years I have travelled on Maryjane, our Cannabus, throughout the length and breadth of New Zealand. Together we have visited communities from Cape Reinga in the north to Bluff in the south and all the towns and cities in between. I have smoked with more people in more places than anybody in New Zealand history. And in every place there is always someone that thinks they can ‘blow’ Dakta Green away. So far they have failed.

But this young woman was not to be put off. She really thinks she can do it. I say, “Good luck.”

During the following couple of days, The Daktory was abuzz with talk about this possible challenge.

Today I confirm the challenge has been made and accepted.

On Sunday 30th August 2009, I will accept a challenge from any adult (R18) to a smoke up to determine ‘Who is the Champion Smoker of the year‘?
The challenge will be limited to muffins, joints and a large blunt. The next challenge will be bongs the following one spots and so on.

The Green Challenge will become a must do event for people in our culture. Come and participate or kick back and watch. Either way it will be loads of fun.

We have a host of activities and challenges planned for the day including Joint Rolling competition, Live music, World record hotbox attempt – have you ever done one of these? It will knock your socks off. The world record is 84. Can we beat that?

Time: Doors open at noon – close late (after 8pm)
Place: The Daktory of course. 80 Delta Avenue, New Lynn.
Price: Advance purchase $15.00 available from The Daktory and the Hemp Store.
Door sales $20.00
The Daktory members receive a special gift on arrival.

If you wish to enter the Green Challenge the cost is in addition to the entry fee and is $50.00.

The Daktory is open five days a week.

Wed, Thu, Fri 6pm till midnight.
Saturday Noon till Midnight
Sunday Noon till 8pm.
