Well, not literally.

The bus suffered some more mechanical issues this morning, as the Armistice Tour convoy set off for it’s Northland tour. As a result, we are sorry to inform you that we will be postponing our Northland tour. We are truly sorry to those of you who were hoping to checkout our Mobile Daktory, but we will be making it up to you at a later date.

We will be visiting the Auckland electorates regardless of Mary Jane’s status, as we will be showing up with our support vehicles, Stashin Wagon and the Bongo Van, if she is not working on the day.

The Daktory itself is running as per normal while the tour is in Auckland. We will be broadcasting live tonight at 7.30pm on Stickam, if the player on our site doesn’t work, then click here for our Stickam profile player.

We are sorry once again for the delay. We keep being told the vehicles are fixed and ready, but we keep being let down.

If you are able to help in any way with the Armistice Tour in your town, then please email armistice.tour@thedaktory.org.nz

Dear Cannabis Community,

It may seem like others have taken up arms against us, but cannabis community campaigner Dakta Green has already appealed for a truce on the War Against Drugs (y’know, the one that attacks ordinary Kiwi families).

Armistice Tour update as of 9.25pm Tuesday.

Dakta Green – founder of New Zealand’s only cannabis club The Daktory – reports he is very close to the goal of raising 2000 cannabis law reform submissions by this Friday.

He and fellow Daktavists will personally deliver the submissions they have raised on a two-round road tour – in MaryJane the Cannabus – of the North Island to the Law Commission offices in Wellington this Friday.

Staying true to the Daktory’s ethos of “Live like it’s Legal”, community leader and veteran cannabis law reform campaigner Dakta Green described today’s nationwide police raids as both disgusting and ineffective.

“They will have no effect and are a ludicrous waste of police resources and time.

“Unless the police have some way of turning the sun off there will be no shortage of cannabis.”

Dakta Green’s week and a half on the road has given him personal experience of the availability of cannabis in Heartland Kiwi communities.

“Our road trip has revealed that cannabis is plentiful, there’s tons of buds around.”

Stay tuned for further Armistice Tour updates…

It was great to see a lot of new faces last night at The Daktory for Dakta Livvy’s 20th birthday, I hope you all tried the cake

The photo was taken earlier today, I don’t think I have ever seen The Daktory look as great as it is right now. We have more lighting equipment on the way as we speak, so look forward to buzzing out in the atmosphere tonight. Sorry that it is only a phone camera pic, more photos and videos will be posted after the event.

There are day passes available for $10 if you are only looking to come for the live acts today!

Sorry about the technical hitch last night! We are all prepared today thankfully, with bands starting at 6.30pm and playing through till 2am.

Tomorrow, we have the joint rolling competition at 3pm, followed by the World Record Hotbox Attempt at 4.20, with DJ’s playing the way through. Can we break our record of 84 people?

Hope to see you all here throughout the rest of the weekend.

Live like it’s legal!

My friend Dakta Grower (Brian Borland) is serving a sentence of 2 years 4 months in prison for cultivation and selling of cannabis. After serving one third of his sentence he has been denied early release when recently he appeared before the New Zealand Parole Board.

Would somebody in charge please explain why my friend is in jail.

I have received the following message from Dakta Grower;

“When a man is refused the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.” Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom

“I don’t compare myself to this great man. As well as being a leader, he also served 28 years of hard toil, whereas I am only doing 28 months in what, in comparison, is a holiday camp.

However, there are similarities, in the sacrifice of freedom, in the war against oppression of our people.

Cannabis is a culture and the people of the cannabis culture are possibly one of the most persecuted groups in the world today.

Since 1994 I have lived the life, in part, that I believe in, growing cannabis for myself and my friends. Seven convictions and three jail terms have failed to deter me and in fact have only reinforced my conviction that cannabis laws are unfair and unjust.

I thought that the purpose of my jail sentence was to stop me growing. For the first time, I broke the vow that I made in 2003, that “I will continue to grow, no matter what” and promised that, if granted parole, I wouldn’t grow again.

I totally meant this, but the Parole Board wouldn’t believe me. They felt that I needed to complete the drug treatment program with its potential to change my heart and mind. Brainwashing to convince me that cannabis is bad and prohibition laws should be obeyed. As this is unacceptable to me, I have refused to do the program and this means that I will have to serve my full sentence.

Last month, on the news, there were two cases of drunk drivers killing cyclists. One received 2 years 2 months, the other 12 months home detention, and from Ashburton, a drunk driver killed a girl and was given 350 hours community work.

So causing the death of another person is less of a crime than growing and selling cannabis. I provided only happiness, there were no victims.

Two things that keep my morale up are support letters and talking to Dakta Green. Telecom charges us $1 per minute for phone calls so phone cards are always appreciated.

The parole board decision has only strengthened and reinforced my resolve, conviction and commitment. I reaffirm my vow.

I will continue to grow.
Kia kaha kia manawanui

The law is wrong. I am right. End of story.”

Brian Borland
Dakta Grower

Stay strong my friend. This madness will end soon and you will be a free man again.

Dakta Green

Tonight, Close up on TV1 had an article on Mary Jane, the Cannabus. They had based the story around it being following her trip up to Waitangi, but ended up spending most of the time showing every bad clip they could about the trip, and of ‘Dacktar’ Green! Yes, that’s right, they didn’t even bother checking to see how to spell it.

Though there is the presence of a balanced article, it seems to lack any any footage of support for the cause, other than members of The Daktory talking to the camera.

For those of you who haven’t read the text article, or seen the poor photography to go with, you can <a href="http://tvnz.co.nz/close-up/morgan-s-potbus-hits-road-3352616"target="_blank">check it out here.

For those of you who want to check out the video, you can get that here.
