Dakta in the house

He calls himself Dakta Green.
The 59-year-old has been jailed in California and New Zealand for cultivating cannabis but has no plans to change his ways.
Dakta is a strong activist for law reform surrounding the drug and has been pushing for its legalisation since 1999.

Harvard Law School Professor Charles Nesson will be arguing the appeal of my marijuana conviction for sharing a joint at the 2007 Boston Freedom Rally on the historic Boston Common with High Times associate publisher Rick Cusick. We both took the stand at our trial and testified under oath that we were certainly sharing a joint, and were protesting the constitutionality of the very marijuana laws under which we were arrested. Cannabis to go on trial
After more than thirty years since enactment, the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 will face a major challenge when the well known cannabis dactivist, Dakta Green, puts cannabis on trial.
“For the first time since the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 came into force, cannabis will be subjected to the scrutiny of the court.
My stay of proceedings application will be based on my interpretation of section 9 of the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990.
9. Right not to be subjected to torture or cruel treatment
Everyone has the right not to be subjected to torture or to cruel, degrading, or disproportionately severe treatment or punishment.

. Increase the health budget for prescription drugs by 20%.
I, DAKTA GREEN, candidate for the Mt Albert electorate, representing the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party (ALCP) will achieve these promises without any extra cost to YOU, the TAXPAYER
I believe cannabis should be legally available for Adults (R18).
